The award-winning interior solution is called GK LUMEE and features an elegant all-glass construction in which ceiling and wall loads are supported solely by the glass walls. Thanks to its independence from the building grid, the GK LUMEE system offers maximum flexibility. The integrated ventilation and lighting come ready to plug in, and the slim ceiling structure is available in all RAL colors. GK LUMEE enables ceilings up to 5 m in length, in a self-supporting construction, with integrated room and architectural acoustics, ventilation, lighting, and technical systems. It ranges from the compact phone booth measuring 1.2 x 1.4 m to the spacious conference room measuring, for example, 5 x 9 m — all variations are possible.
From the material-efficient construction, through the ability to retrofit and reuse, to single-material recycling — achieved by consistently avoiding composite materials during the post-use phase — the path toward sustainable product design pursued by Goldbach Kirchner is clearly evident here.
The international jury of the architecture and design competition recognized the outstanding design and innovative functionality of the all-glass room-in-room system in the Excellent Product Design – Office Furniture category.
